Tsukuba Scholarships for International Students in Japan, 2017-2018
The University of Tsukuba is offering scholarships for privately financed international students who wish to receive scholarships through university recommendation for AY 2017-2018. Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate, graduate and research programme.
The scholarship aims to support of privately financed foreign students financially after they enter the university.
The University of Tsukuba aims to establish free exchange and close relationships in both basic and applied sciences with educational and research organizations and academic communities in Japan and overseas.
The candidate should have a very good command over the English language.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate, graduate and research programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.
Scholarship Award: Scholarship awards:
- The first year Tsukuba Scholarship comes with a 100,000 yen travel allowance and a 60,000 yen per month stipend. As the first year is only 1 semester, the scholarship lasts 7 months.
- Second through fourth-year undergraduate, Tsukuba Scholarships are also available. These scholarships pay 60,000 yen per month and last for 12 months.
- Currently, approximately 30% of incoming first-year undergraduate students receive a Tsukuba Scholarship. In later years, students which distinguish themselves academically will be eligible for the Tsukuba Scholarship.
Scholarship can be taken in Japan
Eligibility: Among international students holding a status of residence of “Student”, undergraduate, graduate and research students are eligible to apply (excluding those who take a leave of absence from the university during application period).
Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Students holding a status of residence of “Student”, undergraduate, graduate and research students are eligible to apply.
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirement: The candidate should have a very good command over the English language.
How to Apply: Applicants must submit the application form within the application period to their affiliated academic service office (student support or graduate academic affair section).
