Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for UCD School of Computer Science PhD Scholarships for the year 2017. EU, as well as Non-EU citizens, are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.
Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.
About University: UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is Ireland’s leading business school and research centre offering a world-class MBA, leading PhD programme, a wide range of specialist Masters for both business and non-business graduates as well as Executive Development courses.
Degree Level: Scholarships are available to pursue PhD programme.
Available Subject: Scholarships are awarded within the School of Computer Science.
Scholarship Benefits: Awardees will receive a tax-free scholarship of 16,000€/year, plus payment of Ph.D. fees at EU levels, and an allowance of 1,000€ for a PC. The Scholarships will run for up to 4 years, conditional to satisfactory progress, to be evaluated before the end of year 2.
Eligibility Criteria: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:
Candidates must have a first class or upper second-class honours primary degree, or equivalent. If final degree results are not known at the moment of application, offers may be provisionally made, conditional to confirmation of results. Scholarships are to start in the 2017/18 Academic year, preferably by October 1st 2017.
Candidates who were unsuccessful at the first round of 2017 SCS PhD Scholarships are not eligible to apply for this round.

Application Procedure: To apply for the scholarship, fill in the Application Form (docx), (odt) and submit it by email to gianluca.pollastri-at-ucd.ie by June 15th 2017, 5 pm GMT. Prospective supervisors will be asked to confirm that they wish to support your application and submit a statement in the week following the deadline. Your named referees (who should be different from your supervisor) will be asked to submit their references by the end of June 2017. Results will be announced in July 2017.
