Requirements Criteria for Scholarship:
To be considered eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Must be from an ADB borrowing member country and eligible for the Japanese ODA scholarship.
- Dual Citizenship: Not allowed if one of the citizenships is from a developed country.
- Admission: Must secure admission to an approved master’s program at a designated institution.
- Educational Qualification: Must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with outstanding academic performance.
- Professional Experience: Requires at least two years of full-time professional work experience post-university degree.
- English Proficiency: Must be proficient in oral and written English.
- Age Limit: Generally under 35 years old at the time of application, with exceptions endorsed by the Government of Japan.
- Health and Commitment: Must be in good health and commit to returning to and contributing to their home country after the program.
- Relationships and Employment: Should not have close relationships with ADB staff or be staff at designated institutions, nor be residing or working in a country other than their home nation.
