GATRA Antithrombin Research Awards, Spain 2016
GATRA antithrombin research awards are open for Spanish students to support innovative clinical and scientific research. The Program offers 2 awards of EUR 50,000 to applicants whose proposals best match the program’s objectives, as assessed by an independent review committee. The deadline for receipt of letters of intent is April 15th, 2016. Deadline for submission of full proposal is June 20th, 2016.
Subject Offered: Research should be aimed at gaining more insight into the current and new uses of Antithrombin.

Eligibility: Scientists or clinicians with an innovative idea relevant to Antithrombin research. Applications are encouraged from both individuals and teams who may be undertaking research at universities, hospitals or independent research institutions. Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the GATRA Program:
- The work submitted must represent an original contribution to basic or clinical research and be specifically related to Antithrombin.
- Applicants must present a focused project with goals that can be achieved within 12 months.
- Participants must fulfill a Letter of Intent (LOI), providing:
- Basic details of professional position
- Short CV in PDF
- Summary protocol
- Applicants must be employed or supported by a university, hospital or independent research institution.
Eligible Nationalities: Awards are open for Spanish students.
Scholarship Benefit: The Program offers 2 awards of EUR 50,000 to applicants whose proposals best match the program’s objectives, as assessed by an independent review committee.
Selection Criteria: Applications are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Scientific merit
- Innovation of project
- Clinical and medical impact
- Research environment/qualification of the applicant
Notification: Candidate will be notified for submission of full proposal on May 18th, 2016. Publication of awardees’ names on the Grifols website will be in July 20th, 2016.
Application Procedure for GATRA Antithrombin Research Awards, Spain 2016
Application Procedure: Eligible applicants are asked to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) outlining the aims of their research project. All Letters of Intent (LOI) will be reviewed by the Review Committee who will select a number of candidates to submit a full proposal. The Jury/Review Committee will then evaluate full proposals in detail, before selecting the Awardees.
