Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for Trinity College Dublin Provost’s PhD Scholarships at The School of Histories and Humanities to study in Ireland. EU and Non-EU students are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Provider: Trinity College is the sole constituent college of the University of Dublin, a research university in Ireland.

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Degree Level: Scholarships are available to pursue PhD programme.

Available Subject: The School of Histories and Humanities is offering three fully funded PhD scholarships, covering fees (either EU or Non-EU) plus an annual stipend of €16,000 per year for four years, in the following areas:

  • China, Ireland and Empire
  • Poverty and Welfare in post-war Ireland
  • Integration: An Intellectual History (20th-century US History)

Scholarship Benefits: The School of Histories and Humanities is offering three fully funded PhD scholarships, covering fees (either EU or Non-EU) plus an annual stipend of €16,000 per year for four years.

Number of Scholarships: Up to three scholarships are available.

The School of Histories and Humanities offers seven taught M.Phil. (Masters) programmes and the opportunity to pursue research degrees under supervision through the M.Litt. and structured PhD programmes. All our postgraduate programmes are designed to hone analytical, written and verbal communication skills and deepen critical understanding of a particular subject. We have a strong tradition of interdisciplinary collaboration in research and teaching, and links with leading cultural institutions in Dublin and beyond. Our postgraduate students join a diverse community of internationally recognized scholars, and benefit from access to world-class research archives including papyri, medieval manuscripts, early printed books and other unique primary source material. The College Library also has over 64 million books.
