The University of Waikato (M?ori: Te Whare W?nanga o Waikato), informally Waikato University, is a comprehensive university in Hamilton, New Zealand, with a satellite campus located in Tauranga. The University of Waikato was the first university in New Zealand to be designed from a blank canvas.
Degree Level: The Fellowship is available to pursue postgraduate (research) programme.
Available Subject: The Fellowship will be awarded in any subjects offered by the university.
Scholarship Benefits: The Fellowship will be cover up to $22,000 pa, plus domestic tuition fees, for up to three years.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:
For students enrolling or intending to enrol in a PhD at the University of Waikato with a research interest in a field relevant to sustainable development. Candidates may come from a range of academic disciplines, provided their research aligns with Dr Zena Daysh’s mission to promote a holistic, integrative, and sustainable approach to development.
Eligible Nationality: Domestic or International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.
Application Procedure: Along with the prescribed application form, each applicant must submit:
a) a personal statement (using the template provided), which includes the following
Subheadings:
- Proposed research which emphasizes its relevance to sustainability
- Timeline showing the start of doctoral enrollment, anticipated milestones, and
- the expected completion date
- Previous studies and/or research of relevance to sustainability
- Previous employment of relevance to sustainability
- Past attendance/presentation at seminars, conferences, etc.
- Future career plans
